My week in perspective ~ From Michael’s death to Milan’s birthday~ I’ve been busy…

It has been a busy, but fun week for me! Although my week was fun, it actually started out sad. Michael Jackson’s death threw me a curve ball. It was shocking and is still unbelievable. Right after that on Friday was Milan’s 3rd birthday, and I found that almost a week had passed and I had not updated my blog! However, the world was so captivated and caught up in Jackson’s death that most people’s regular routines were interrupted.
But on Friday, I chose to celebrate life, starting with Milan’s birthday.
So here are some quick pictures from my past week. I have actually been having a lot of fun with the kids….
First we celebrated Milan 3rd birthday on Friday… Happy birthday Milan

Then I took the kids to Stone Mountain on Monday…What fun! We rode the train, they saw a 4-D movie and played…

On Tuesday we went to the movies with our neighbors to see “Space Chimps”. Is that a chimp or Mikaela?

And today I went school clothes shopping with the kids…

Not sure what we’ll do tomorrow… But this weekend is the Fourth of July weekend! We plan on spending the morning of the fourth at a local festival…but I’m not sure about the rest of the day. I’m waiting for SOMEBODY to invite me to a barbecue. If not, I’m sure we’ll throw some burgers on the grill and call it a party.

But last year, my hubby and I started a tradition with the kids that we plan on continuing this year. You may want to try it. We bought a big basket of fireworks and we all sat on our front lawn while my husband lit the fireworks in the street. The kids Ooohed and Aaahed and just loved it immensely. I have to admit that I had fun too. This year I am going to invite the neighbor’s kiddies and expand the celebration. It’s fun and we didn’t have to drive anywhere and worry about crowds or my kids getting lost nor did we have to deal with traffic. I prefer it. So to that end, I’d like to say have a great Fourth of July weekend. Enjoy!
