How Getting Jiggy with Just Dance 4 can Help Melt Away the Holiday Pounds #CleverJD4 #spon

My kids are JUST DANCING up a storm in my home since we received the new Just Dance 4 for Nintendo Wii game.

And since I’m a newbie at Just Dance, having never played it before, I didn’t know what kind of fancy foot movement I’d be required to do to keep up with the reverberating beats. But boy was I pleasantly surprised- and tired from all the dancing! That means that I have just found my new workout regimen to help me stay in control of my weight during the holidays! Whoo-hoo!

Not only that but this is a great way for my kids to exercise as well. The last few weeks my oldest two girls have been working to lose a few pounds. Just Dance serves as a perfect way for kids to exercise and stay healthy and have loads of fun. And as far as an age requirement for the game, let’s just say there doesn’t need to be one (if there is one!) As you can see in the video of my kids playing the game, my 4-year-old son was just as engaged and active, jumping and dancing and following the moves and grooves of One Direction singing their hit, What Makes You Beautiful. The boy is 4 and was doing better than some adults! (Namely me) Check out this video!

My 8-year-od Mikaela LOVES the game and plays it the most with my 4-year-old. For one, Just Dance 4 has most of the songs she LOVES like Rihanna’s Umbrella. Surprisingly my usually quiet 6-year-old Milan jumped right in and joined Mikaela and danced to Umbrella. Just Dance just has a way to bring out the best and the BOOGIE in everybody! Even my son joined in on this one!

But what I do like most about Just Dance 4 is the fact that the song selection contains hits that are just up my alley. I had my husband dancing along to Barry White’s My First, My Last, My Everything. And I was groovin’ to Stevie Wonder’s Superstitious. And yes, my daughter Mikaela did dare to ask me, “Mommy who is Stevie Wonder?” But she clearly knew the lyrics to hits sung by Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.
And the kids feel empowered because they kept scoring PERFECT and GOOD scores, which encourages them to dance more and try harder because they are hitting all the right moves.
Another song my kids love is Moves like Jagger by Maroon 5.

Just Dance 4 also has a continuous mode where you can go through song after song without stopping. But my kids like to stop and pick and choose their favorite tunes. There’s a versus Battle mode where you can challenge another dancer and you bet my kids love to compete against each other to see who can dance the best. And with the scores, my kids are constantly comparing notes to see who has the highest scores and the most stars. The sweat mode will certainly help me to stay on track as I trudge through the holiday trying not to pack on extra pounds.

I like the dancer silhouettes too. They are vivid, colorful, fun and stylish. It reflects today’s animated music culture. If you are looking to connect with your family in a fun and interactive way, forget about the board games, grab Just Dance 4 as a gift for yourself. Get ready to get grooving and when you beat your kids score and they get mad at you for being a Dancing Queen (or King) just blame it on the boogie! 😉

We got hooked on Just Dance 3 and are loving Just Dance 4!!! The “Moves Like Jagger” and “Call Me Maybe” mash-ups are awesome and I am at a 3.9 star average(it’s that serious) – there is a hip-hop dance game coming out soon, but I want to see the track list first. Happy Dancing!!!
