The blogging world has been waiting with bated breath for the BIG announcement. And now the date has been set for the Disney Social Media Moms 2013 conference to be held May 9th-12th, according to Disney officials.
And now bloggers will be checking their email to see if they will receive a coveted invite to the biggest social media celebration of the year which brings moms face-to-face with powerhouse speakers; and to learn, engage, and to be inspired. Not only that, but the perks are second to none. Disney knows how to treat a guest. And as a conference guest you can bring your whole family along with exclusive theme park adventures, private family themed dinners, and just a fun, magical time.
I was invited to last year’s conference and my kids are STILL relishing the time they had. I attended the conference and learned a lot from the conference which was chock-full of informative sessions from powerhouse speakers like Ramon DeLeon, Amy Jo Martin, Lisa Druxman, Peter Shankman and Chris Brogan, who taught me to connect with my audience, be a renegade, stand out like a weed, and WOW em’ like it’s nobody’s business.
Check out my 2012 experience HERE and HERE.
My blog has grown and I get so many hits from Disney enthusiasts that I have even started a new website called DisneyDooDah.com which is in the process of being designed by Sour Apple Studio and should be ready in March. It will be a place where families like mine who are CRAZY about Disney can join in, write, review products and blog about their Disney experiences. I have taken what the speakers said last year and ran with it!
While nobody knows just yet how Disney will decide on this year’s attendees (my fingers are crossed) the invitation process left many bloggers upset because they were not invited to the 2012 conference. Getting an invite is like getting an invitation to the ball. And everyone wants to be the BELL of the ball!
In previous years bloggers applied for the opportunity to attend but in 2012, Disney sent out exclusive email invites and handpicked bloggers. This year, it’s unknown how they will go about selecting bloggers again. But I think I’ll go ahead and make a case for myself.
Dear Disney, remember me? I was the blogger who was quoted in the New York Times for my coverage of Doc McStuffins! 🙂 Love, Cincomom
LOL. Okay, okay. Shameless plug. But I LOVE Disney and would so appreciate an opportunity to attend the Disney Social Media Moms conference again and share my experiences with my audience. I’ll keep you posted on all things Disney Social Media Moms in the coming weeks. So STAY TUNED! We attended last year and LOVED it. I barely got out of work for the weekend but was so glad I did! Fingers crossed!!
Yes I SOOOO want to go this year. I applied a lot of what I learned. I praying for an invite! Hope to see you there!
Wow, that sounds like an amazing experience! Maybe someday it’ll happen for me. Side note: I really loved your coverage on Doc McStuffins. It’s a huge favorite in our house too for many reasons and I make sure we also show support by buying whatever merchandise they have out (i.e. Doctor’s bag, puzzles, etc). I love having such positive programming, especially for our daughters!
Thanks Ari! Yes my kids LOVE Doc Mcstuffins! And Disney Social Media Moms is pretty amazing. I will be on pins and needles waiting to see if I get invited! 🙂
I love your enthusiasm! Congratulations on going last year and good for you for ‘putting it out there’ for this year. I’m confident you’ll make it!!
I would LOVE to go to the conference! I’m a huge Disney fan. I’ve been blogging for 6 years this month, but this is the second year of my own blog.
Hey Andrea! Thanks so much! Well I am certainly glued to my email! I will be over the top thrilled if I make it! Thanks!
Hey Nancy! I know each year they do look for new bloggers so you never know. This could be your year!! 🙂
Thanks for the info and congrats on being a 2012 attendee! I would LOVE to attend, especially since I live 15 minutes from DisneyWorld!! Would love to connect with other bloggers and soak in some great information along with the beautiful Florida sunshine. : )
Wow that would save you some time living only 15 minutes away! Well it’s definitely a phenomenal conference and you can make so many connections and the fact that you get to have BIG FUN. So good luck to you!
