Saturday was sizzling with six grill masters cooking up chargrilled treats on their grills outside of Lenox Mall. All for a grilling good at Macy’s “Sizzle Showdown” to compete for a grand prize of $10,000, and a trip to the Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks in New York City where they will be revealed as America’s Grilling Guru. And Leah Lyon’s Sizzled Stars and Stripes Surf and Turf won her the Top spot!

Hosted by Tracye Hutchins, co-anchor of CBS’s Better Mornings Atlanta, the finalists competed in two rounds of competition and were judged by Macy’s Culinary Council chefs Cat Cora, Marc Forgione and Stephanie Izard who selected the winner. And it was quite a fun day of eating, drinking and having a good time while the contestants “got-down” on the grill!
We munched on delectable treats like bitter orange ice cream pops that kept us cool under the warm sun. And then we got to try several different entrees from the chefs and we were encouraged to ask trivia questions to win awesome prizes. I brought my three girls and truly enjoyed the festive atmosphere. Macy’s had a great outdoor setup under a tent and provided water, drinks and samples of delicious food. The contestants were revving to go and fired up the grills and got busy.
