My little Mikaela LOVES to perform!
It’s her dream to be an actress. She has her own YouTube show and now for the first time a professional acting role in the Stage Play Breathe, set to premiere in Atlanta March 18, 19, & 20 at The Porter-Sandford Theatre in Decatur, GA.
Produced by SoulFree Enterprises, BREATHE is a play by Cleavon Meabon, IV, a creative and talented playwright in Atlanta.
And to kick off the play SoulFree Enterprises is giving away a $1,000 performing arts scholarship away to a deserving high school or undergraduate student! I know plenty of students who could use some extra cash to help them get through school! Visit www.soulfreee.com/scholarship.html to learn more and enter!
ABOUT THE PLAY
BREATHE is a raw and enchanting theatric experience that illustrates the many paths in which African American hardships have channeled into our cultural forms of art and performance.
It testifies to the fact that no matter what, our roots run deep and the cultural richness of our ancestors saturate our blood; therefore, the more blood shed, the more culture flows out into the world.
The show executes this message through poetry, song, dance, drama, and comedies dating all the way back to African. We have found gratitude in our essence, and strive to grasp the value of the very breath we breathe. Breathe imitates the God that brought us over through creation, and our cultural creation is art. Be it spirituals, native dances, jazzy tones, or all out blues – our stories have never ceased to be heard. The purpose of Breathe is to revive the pride that holds our creations to a higher standard. It stands to remind us that because of who we are, simply breathing is creating, and breathing is second nature.
