When I think of Mother’s Day I think of just ONE day where I can relax and release. A day where I am unbothered by kids and their ridiculous demands. A day where I’m not responsible to feed anyone, or run anyone to their afterschool activities. A day where I can just be me and find myself, if just for a day. Having five kids makes that kinda hard. I have four kids at home and our lives are consumed with on-going activities. So I was glad to receive a beautiful bundle of candles courtesy of Shaneen Scott at Gold Canyon Candles. When I saw the candles I immediately thought about all the wonderful women who were deserving of receiving some soothing candles for Mother’s Day:
- My Mom Janice
- My aunt Kathleen
- My Cousin Symirah
- My aunt LaVonne
This list could go on to extend to my wonderful friends and hard-working women like Dr. Di-Di St. Louis or Pam Owunta. I got excited and started thinking how wonderful would it be if these women were just able to relax for a day. We all deserve it.
And then I opened up the Gold Canyon catalog and almost lost myself in luxury. They offer candles and so much more.

This is Lemon Ice and refreshing burst of Lemon and made me think of the days when I use to eat juicy Water Ices back in Philly. Never had a Water Ice? You don’t know what you’re missing! 
Mmmm. Brown Sugar Cookie smells so delish. I tell ya all these yummy candles are causing an uproar in my kitchen. Now I want to bake cookies! LOL

I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to choose and would have to go with my standby scent–something spicy, fall-ish, maybe a bit of apple–but I came across Strudel & Spice CAFÉ… cherry? vanilla? cinnamon? caaaaraaaamel? This is definitely the one!
