But switching from her naturally curly koils to straight is a job in itself. Managing Mikaela’s hair is not always a pleasurable experience for her or for me. So I don’t look forward to doing anything to her hair other than let her wear it natural. There are 4 easy steps to this process.
- First I shampooed Mikaela’s hair with the gentle cleansing shampoo.
- Then I applied the Inner-Active Leave in Conditioner and left it on her hair for 20 mins.
- I blow-dried her hair.
- And then flat ironed it for desired straightness.
If you’re like me and you want to find a seamless way to style your kids hair and take it from naturally kinky and coily to straight and BACK then DreamKids new Detangler Miracle Reversible™ Straightening Texture Manageability™ System has mastered that process for you.
The system allows for your child’s hair to stay straight and healthy looking for up to 6 weeks. And to keep it that way, you would simply use the Anti-Reversion Shampoo and Conditioner during your regular shampoo times for your child’s hair. And if within that time you want to revert your child’s hair back to its natural curly state, then shampoo with your regular shampoo. Or consider a lower heat setting on your flat irons or curlers to easily convert back and forth between straight and curly styles.
I used a lower setting for Mikaela because she really likes to be curly and I want to easily flip back to her original style.
What I love is the fact that Mikaela’s hair will stay straight much longer with this system, than if I just straightening it out on its own. Natural hair “poofs up” real fast without s system like this.

TIPS TO BLEND MULTIPLE TEXTURES
SCRUNCHING: Sometimes all your child’s curls need is a little encouragement. the act of tightly scrunching loose ends will generate texture. make sure your child’s hair is wet and fully moisturized before you scrunch.
USING ROLLER RODS: Try setting your child’s loose ends on a small roller rod to mimic a curly, kinky, or wavy pattern. Requires dryer time.
USING A SMALL CURLING IRON ON THE ENDS: Once your child’s hair is dry, tightly curl the ends with a tiny curling iron to help blend with defined curls. Try to save this method for a day when there is not a lot of time and unable to manipulate the hair without heat.
FLAT TWIST WITH A ROLLER ROD ON THE ENDS: Do a flat twist (two-strand twist) and roll your child’s ends for a pretty, perfectly blended hairstyle. Requires dryer time.
COIL MANIPULATION: Try coiling your child’s ends around a finger to encourage the ends to curl. Make sure your child’s hair is wet and fully moisturized. — SOURCE TalkingTexture.com
