Chances are you’ve seen that busy body Elf On the Shelf all over your Twitter and Facebook timeline, causing mischief, spreading magic and leaving behind bits of joy surprising boys and girls all over the globe during the countdown to Christmas time.
I’ve seen the Elf On the Shelf and often wondered what all the buzz was about. Well I got the chance to meet one of the founders of the hugely popular Elf On the Shelf book, Chandra Bell, as she introduced her newest Elf on the Shelf book, The Elf On The Shelf: A Birthday Tradition this past weekend. Along with other bloggers, I attended a party like it was my birthday at Piece of Cake in Atlanta as part of an event sponsored in part by Niche Parent and Founder Nadia Jones.
Chanda Bell is a woman of ambition who used the power of social media and small town word of mouth as the machine that worked to get the word out about Elf On the Shelf. And it did work.
She’s also a woman with a big heart. She’s made sure that $1 from each Elf Birthday book supports Charity Water organization. In Africa alone, people spend 40 billion hours every year walking for water. Women and children usually bear the burden of water collection, walking miles to the nearest source, which is unprotected and likely contaminated. Chanda is a woman who is using her power and influence to make a difference for other women globally. CharityWater.org
Chanda gave us a glimpse of her newest Birthday Elf product. And as a teacher returning to the classroom this year, I was so happy to hear all about the Birthday Elf products which includes a Chair Decorating Kit, Countdown to Birthday Calendar and a Birthday Gift Box Set.
Each Chair Decorating kit includes everything a scout elf needs to design a birthday seat that will delight any birthday girl or boy on their big day. The chair can be customized with the child’s name and age, if desired. Each kit is constructed of the finest material Santa could find and is durable enough to be used year after year. And I’m so happy to say that all of the bloggers were gifted with one! And thank you to Chandra Davis for gifting my fellow 4th grade teachers with a kit as well!
