You would never believe how tough and yet blessed, this year has been for me.
First I got word that my younger sister Shanice got hit by a car while riding a bike in Philadelphia this year. I just knew she would be dead because who could ever survive that? But battered and bones broken, she lives.
And then my dad underwent an open heart surgery because he needs a new heart. And a few days later after massive bleeding they had to open him up yet again and perform more surgery and remove part of his lungs. I rushed to Philadelphia to be there for him and my mom. It was touch and go. We didn’t know if he would survive and neither did the doctors. This is him today with a few of the Jefferson Hospital team members who saved his life.
I can honestly say that this year has been an emotional one. And I can remember driving alone with my children 13 hours to Philadelphia and BACK and it was one of the toughest trips I ever had to take. This year and how I perservered has shown me that I truly am UNSTOPPABLE. I learned that when my family needs me, it requires a huge amount of strength and faith to pull through all the pain.
