Well I have the wonderful of pleasure of giving back to a GREAT afterschool program called Midway United Methodist Church Afterschool program in Douglasville Georgia, thanks to Walmart and Champion For Kids.

Champions for Kids launched Snacks for Students Program in Walmart School districts and youth-based organizations can qualify to win a portion of $45,000! The program runs from Feb. 18th for March 4th so I need YOU to help me raise snacks for Midway! Go to the Walmart located 7001 Concourse Parkway, Douglasville, GA 30134 and look for these bins at the entrances:

Put as many snacks as your heart desire into the bin and Midway UMC will be the recipient and receive the donations!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Champions for Kids, General Mills, Kellogg’s, Emerald and Kettle Chips have joined forces to make it simple for communities to provide basic resources for students through in-store donations. The Snacks for Students program is part of SIMPLE Giving, a Champions for Kids program that seeks to make it simple for shoppers to purchase and donate items children need. From February 18 to March 4, U.S. customers at more than 3,600 participating Walmart stores can purchase snacks and breakfast items for children and place them inside designated donation bins.

All donations made in-store will stay in the local community and be distributed through school districts or youth-based organizations.

In addition, Champions for Kids, General Mills, Kellogg’s, Emerald and Kettle Chips will provide 13 awards, totaling $45,000, to school districts and participating youth-based organizations based on the total number of donated items collected in each store. And let me tell you, Midway could REALLY use your help!

I am excited to have this opportunity to help give back in such a big way! Theresa Morris runs the afterschool program and she is a sweet and caring person who really cares about the students she serves. I would love to see this program win THOUSANDS of dollars to help them run it. Don’t know what to give? SNACKS, SNACKS, and MORE SNACKS!!

So please stop by the Walmart in Douglasville and help Midway After school program get snacks and help to give back to YOUR community! Stay tuned in March for my followup blog post to let you know how many donations Midway received.
