Calling ALL Teachers!
Kroger’s Atlanta Division is showing support for Atlanta-area educators by giving away classroom supplies valued at more than $60,000. Teachers are invited to come and pick out free items for their classrooms, diving into the school year with a fresh start – and some fresh supplies.
Classroom supplies include, but are not limited to:
* Copy paper
* Construction paper
* Markers
* Scotch tape
* Disinfectant wipes
* Sandwich bags
“Each year, an increasing number of teachers are forced to use their own paycheck to purchase classroom supplies,” says Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “Kroger is committed to education, and making sure our teachers have the tools they need to successfully educate our children is an essential step in this effort.”
Educators with a valid Georgia teacher ID can receive up to $40 in free supplies on a first-come, first-served basis at two Atlanta-area locations while supplies last.
The event coincides with the Kroger Community Rewards program, which launched in 2013. The program encourages Kroger’s Atlanta Division customers to direct a portion of their spending to support local organizations that matter to them. Participants include schools, churches, synagogues, animal shelters and youth service organizations.
