Experience a Winter Wonderland Ice Skating Adventure in Marietta Square!

What a great weekend this has been! I did something totally out of the ordinary for my kids and took them to Marietta Square for an ice-skating experience and who knew that my kids who had NEVER gone ice skating before would glide around on the rink like they were ice-skating champions!

I got a chance to preview the new ice skating rink in Historic  Marietta Square, which got a holiday makeover, including the addition of its first-ever open-air ice skating rink.

The rink opened Friday, November 20th in the center of Glover Park.  Rink admission is $12, which includes rental skates.  The rink will be open seven days a week, during the following hours:
Mondays-Thursdays: 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Fridays: 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Sundays: Noon to 10 p.m.
Also mark your calendars for Thursday, December 3rd — Santa Claus will visit the square that evening, just ahead of the lighting of the Christmas tree (which takes place at 6 p.m.).
That was certainly a very fun experience and I thought my kids would be falling all over the place. But no way. The staff were very nice and accommodating and one of the staff members even gave my kids pointers on how to do pirouettes! I don’t think they’re ready for that but I didn’t think they were ready to even ice skate so what do I know! You have really got to take your family ice skating and do something that may be a little out of the ordinary. My kids were begging to come back and we’re going to definitely do that all winter season. There’s no way I can deny them of such a wonderful experience!
