Six Flags over Georgia has outdone itself! We were invited to this year’s Fright Fest and it was the very first time we ever attended. First let me say that I don’t do scary movies or anything that makes my skin crawl and my eyes bulge out of my head. But we decided to go because I wanted to experience the Fright Fest and frankly I thought how bad could it be getting scared by a couple of ghosts and goblins, right? I was dead WRONG!
Oh. Em. Gee! What the hell! Six flags went ALL OUT on their Fright Fest and let me just say that SH*T was scary as hell! Excuse my french! It was spooky and weird and scary all in a good way! I was surprisingly SURPRISED that it was so eerie! First let’s talk about the Crazy Clown with the chainsaw why don’t we! With so many reports around the country about clowns chasing and killing people, I thought maybe Six Flags would scale back. But NO! They went clown crazy and it added a touch of sinisterness that was so needed and helped them hit the nail on the head when it came to the FRIGHT factor. No joke, I was scared. Check out my video.
There were all kinds of creepy characters that freaked me out. Like this Genie of sorts who spooked everybody who walked by!

Two of my daughters, Kaitlin and Mikaela came along and were freaked out. They also had a haunted house that I would not dare go in but my daughters did. ALL I know is that I saw my child Mikaela emerging from the emergency exit with tears in her eyes. Kaitlin came out of there screaming, “THEY NEED TO SHUT THAT THING DOWN!!!!” LOL! It was just that scary. Wow Six Flags! Way to Go! I mean really! This experience was second to none.
We also got a behind the scenes peek into what it takes to get the creepy characters ready. We learned about make-up techniques for employees and learned all about how they transform into their characters. Then we got a chance to get out faces “painted” as monster. Well, my daughter Mikaela did. She creeped me out!
One of my FAVORITE things about the night was the show! I was truly entertained and left with a big smile on my face. I loved the choreography and nod to the lates dance crazes too.
Fright Fest offers plenty of haunted houses, spooky shows, frightening rides and scarezones. Daytime activities include treats for the little ghouls and goblins, and at night, watch those same ghouls come to life!
Fright by Night
As the night creeps over the Georgia skies, the creatures and things that go bump in the night take over and transform the park. The lineup of exclusive and nail-biting haunted houses will leave you screaming. Be sure to stay on your toes as there’s something lurking around every corner especially in the scarezones. This year, Six Flags Over Georgia has added an all-new dark maze, Mummy’s Curse, along with several new scare zones and live shows that will challenge even the bravest souls and create new nightmares for those of the faint of heart. You never know if something is watching from behind, or waiting for you to cross its frightening path.
Also new for Fright Fest in 2016 is Rage of the Gargoyles Virtual Reality Coaster. From 6:00 PM each evening during Fright Fest, head over to Dare Devil Dive, strap on your Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus headset and prepare to battle hundreds of gargoyles looking to overtake the city. You’ll twist and turn at more than 50 MPH, down a 95 degree 100-foot drop and more through 2,800 feet of track. Be ready for a long wait in line too.
A Haunted Attractions Wristband pass is required for entrance to the six haunted mazes of Fright Fest and may be purchased online or at the park.
Thank you to Six Flags for the guest passes to experience all the attractions. But all opinions are mine!
